Ringo Starr was rushed to hospital on 8 September 1969 with an intestinal complaint.
He was taken to London’s Middlesex Hospital from his Weybridge home in the morning, and given a bed in the private wing.
Ringo is under observation and there is no cause for concern. An operation is unlikely.

Starr had been due to attend a meeting to discuss The Beatles’ future the following day.
John Lennon’s assistant Anthony Fawcett brought a portable tape recorder to document the meeting, which also allowed the absent Starr to hear the discussions.
Ringo – you can’t be here, but this is so you can hear what we’re discussing.

Starr was discharged from the hospital on 11 September.
