The Beatles’ umbrella company for their various business interests, Apple Music Ltd., became Apple Corps Ltd. on 12 January 1968.
It had been incorporated as The Beatles & Co. on 19 April 1967, and seven months later became Apple Music Ltd. The new name reflected The Beatles’ hopes to expand into publishing, filmmaking, fashion, retail, and other creative fields beyond music.
