The previous evening, John Lennon and Neil Aspinall left Celle in West Germany, where Lennon was filming How I Won The War with Richard Lester, for a break in Paris, France.
On this day they were joined by Paul McCartney and Brian Epstein, who had travelled to Paris from London. The four men had a weekend break together in the city, and on Sunday 18 September Lennon and Aspinall went to Spain to continue filming.

I think Maggie McGivern, the discreet lover of Paul, was there too, and the couple shared a suite.
That wasn’t Paul. The guy was big ,chubby, and sloppy, unlike Paul. Paul had attended the Melody Maker award luncheon a few days before. He was slender, svelte, and put together as usual. How could his appearance (height, weight, body type, style aesthetic) change in a a matter of 10 days. Maggie McGivern belonged to that guy, not Paul.
