Let the fun begin!

50 years is a reasonable amount of time to take stock of a song, album or event.

What’s gotten better with time? What’s fared less well?

I’d say they’ve all pretty well stood the test of time.

Wow, 50 years. I think I’m gonna get a White Album poster to celebrate, like I did last year with Sgt Pepper ‘s.

Well, Apollo 11 kinda trumped 8. 8 is like an Esher demo; they know where they’re going, but they wanna test it beforehand. 11 is the one that’ll get the big 50th Anniversary celebrations when we get there next year.

Apollo 8 as an Escher demo?

Love that! In a way it was, but you could say that Apollo 9 was much more the Escher demo: The lunar module approached the moon but never landed.

Apollo 8 “just” circled the moon and came back – but it was the first time Man was shot out in space away from mother Earth. A slight miscalculation or malfunction and they’d have been headed out of the solar system…

I don’t think anything has anyone looking back in horror at how dated it is. Except Apple’s attitude when we get limited edition replicas of the film cells for the second  ‘Hey Jude ‘ promo as their way of marking 50 years of one of the greatest songs ever.

For the ‘White Album ‘ they’ll launch their own computer paper in a landmark deal with HP Printers. Buy 5 packs and a printer and get a limited edition ‘Blue Meanies’ pack of computer paper too.

My main issue with Yellow Submarine is that I can’t understand a damn word in the whole movie. The art has aged incredibly well especially when set to Beatles music.

Obviously the White Album and Hey Jude /Revolution have aged considerably well.

Maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Apple to remaster the audio in the movie

Still amazes me that so many people fell for this crap…  NO man (or animal) during the “Space Age” has ever left lower-Earth orbit and survived…  humans can’t even survive traversing the Van Allen Belts for several seconds, let alone the several hours (and a return trip no doubt!) that the Apollo Astronauts supposedly endured in their Halloween Costumes…  The U.S., Russia & China are STILL trying to overcome this barrier to getting humans into space…  There should be a special edition release of the Original Apollo Moon Landing footage to commemorate this “event”…  oh wait…  NASA misplaced the tapes…  The Single Greatest Example of the Power of Television…  People will believe ANYTHING…  just attach a “credible” source such as NASA to it and hook, line and sinker…  Anyone who blows the whistle on this fakery?  Just give ’em a “Conspiracy Theorist” T-Shirt to wear…  problem solved…  the U.S. Government wouldn’t lie to us…

I knew as a young kid that those photographs and footage were fake just by looking at it…  I was not at all surprised once I did my own research later on that this turned out to be true…  The evidence is there, the motive was most certainly there during the Cold War…  I’ve come to a place with this that I think that people want to believe that we’ve been to the moon, and don’t care if it’s true or not…  there’s also those who once believed it to be true but then got smart, trouble is, the vast majority of them still go along with it because they’re too embarrassed to admit that they fell for such an elaborate joke…  then there’s the rather large demographic who simply does not care if we did or didn’t…  The Russians were decades ahead of the U.S. during the 1960’s Space Race…  The U.S. could not keep up but Hollywood was their Trump (pun intended) Card and they played it perfectly…  Yes, you can always count on the fact that the majority of the population will eat up anything on TV and the news…:-)

The main issue is just the way the captain, the blue meanies, and even The Beatles talk. Its so quick and zany that its really difficult to understand.

The only character I can even hear is Jeremy Hillary Boob

Yellow Submarine film definitely deserves an anniversary celebration, But I do feel a bit cynical about   all the anniversarisms we get lumbered with generally. Seems like a cynical move to push products we already own, but are persuaded we really, really should have this new ultra deluxe version.

@Billy Rhythm Welcome back! I thought, “Will he resist this tasty morsel?”

By the way, John Young just passed away. He flew 2 Gemini, 2 Apollo, and a few Space Shuttle missions.

Here’s his Wikipedia bio John_Young_(astronaut)

All fake news? Note, Billy Rhythm, that yet another space-walking astronaut has passed away without leaving behind any message suggesting that it was all a hoax. I suppose 50 years out, NASA is still paying the families of the astronauts to keep quiet?

Of course they are! The moon isn’t even real! It’s all a big hoax created by the Government.

A “space-walk” during a shuttle mission happens in low-Earth orbit…  Any voyage beyond that involves having your spacecraft bombarded by relativistic particles travelling at near the speed of light for hours…  these “astronauts” supposedly not only achieved the impossible on their first try but lived to be 87 years old afterwards?!  The technology to protect organic life from this extreme hostile environment simply doesn’t exist yet, and you know what?  It didn’t in 1969 either…:-)

There’s much out there, just filter through the Weakeepeedia misinformation campaign and you’ll find plenty of good resources…  YouTube’s always good…  how’s this for a start:

There’s a lot of more recent developments as well…  Here we have a NASA Engineer tripping over their own steaming pile during an official video…  at approximately  3:35  of this commercial to solicit yet more tax dollars from the U.S. public, he says “we must solve these challenges BEFORE we send people into this region of space”…  it begs the question, how did Apollo do it?

The Van Allen Belts were first discovered in 1958…  The probe that attempted to measure what it found itself inside of found its instruments suddenly show a reading of “0”…  The needle literally fell motionless for it wasn’t designed to process readings so unthinkable at the time, thus displaying no reading…  We were only just beginning to understand their true nature with the first accurate readings from 1970’s missions…  Skylab, if memory serves me correctly, was the first designed to measure the Van Allen Belts with accuracy, and if my memory is still serving me here, that was around 1973…  Yet, we’re expected to believe that humans were adequately protected in their 1960’s Halloween Suits?!  I mean, I just posted an OFFICIAL video from the 2010’s where one of their own engineers admits that they need to address this Serious Safety Concern “BEFORE we send people into this region of space”?!!…:-)

and for an examination of the political climate which inspired this fakery, I recommend this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?…..9vaU-seg6o

so…  what exactly is the “evidence” that the U.S. went to the moon?  since you asked I think that it’s only fair…  do you have anything other than the so obviously faked (second generation I might add) footage?  how exactly did the U.S. protect these astro-nots from relativistic particles anyway?  The U.S., Russia & Chinese would likely pay you top dollar for this information…  anybody?…:-)
