"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Paul looked a lot more relaxed during the Bang & Olufsen interview just now than he did the other day during the Stern interview.
AND!!! He he talks about his good library experiences!!!!! My hero

He always looks a bit more tensed up on the Stern interviews. Can't really blame him with some of the question being asked on there.

Just slide the bar back to the beginning. I think the interview starts at maybe 13 mins in.

Is it just me or did we lose the connection? The live part stopped suddenly and now I can't even get anything in the beginning to play.

I think we did lose connection. Sorry about that, but hopefully someone will post the video later.

It came back up, then stopped again and now it says the video is private. Bit of a disaster. And holy crap, the interviewer is a douche.

Really cute interview with Paul for NPR's "All Things Considered." You can download and view a transcript at the link:
ROBERT SIEGEL: But I mean, Sir Paul McCartney , I mean, you have had success in so many dimensions of music. You really feel a competitive insecurity with somebody else who's coming out with a record.
MCCARTNEY: Unfortunately, yes. I think one thing that's good about it is, I think it's a good motivator. I think it keeps you hungry. I think the minute you're full up and have had enough to eat, then that's time to retire. But I agree with you. You know, I should be able to look at my accolades and go: Come on, Paul, that's enough. But there's still this little voice in the back of my brain goes: No, no, no, you could do better. This person over here is excelling. Try harder. It still can be a little bit intimidating. You know?

I never heard of Graham Norton before. That show linked by mja has some interesting moments. One cool one was when singer Katy Perry spontaneously turns to Paul (she seated next to him) and tells him one of her favorite songs of his is "Ram On ". Paul seemed genuinely touched that she liked it so much.

Yeah, I got them in before they disappeared! Thanks for posting those mja!
That was so cute when Paul said he liked to hear all those teenage girls screaming. It reminded him of the Beatles.
Then he just had to wiggle those eyebrows. {whee}

Yes, it was a sweet moment, especially as Katy went on to say that she listens to it with her boyfriend. He must hear a lot of "i love your music" and then get hit with the biggies of his career so was probably expecting it would be something on a greatest hits, Band On The Run , or a Beatles song, but Ram On is only on Ram so you at least have to have some liking for Paul's music. I wonder if Paul only remembers Ram being critically slated instead of the enormous love that has grown for it over the years.

I also thought that it was cute that Katy was so in awe of Paul that she couldn't really look him directly in the eyes for very long. She impressed me. I think I just might have to listen to some of her music. I haven't heard any of it.

I was surprised of her being in awe of Paul and being a big fan of his as well. I love her more now.
Here's the song, Ahhh Girl, that Paul said him and his daughter love. Its not one my favorites, but its cool.

Yeah, that's always a good sign when a young pop star is in awe of a star from another era. I recall seeing an awards show once some time in the late 90s where Ray Charles came out to do one of his old hits from the 60s, and the camera showed Prince -- usually affecting an arrogant "I'm too cool" attitude -- genuinely swaying and clapping and singing along. Now that's cool.
