A pie has an all-enclosing pastry crust (with the exception of open-faced pies, most pies are covered on top with either a full crust or a lattice), whereas cheesecake has a sort of thicker, cookie-like crust that is found only on the bottom and sometimes thinly on the sides, thus making technically a tart, but not a pie.
Tarts are essentially pies, though. Open-faced pies are tarts but we call them pies, so what difference does it make?
Also, if you can call this a pie, then cheesecake is definitely a pie.

Offline To be fair that was the first time I’d ever made a chicken pot pie, and I think the first time I’d had to do an upper crust

Offline Cake > pies in general but it does depend on flavor.

Offline Beatlebug likes the Beatles, and so by definition he likes Paul. If you look at the changed avatar, they look exactly the same except for the missing crack on the pie surface. Therefore, this is proof that Paul is dead.
