  1. LPs were too expensive for the Portuguese people’s earnings at that time, that’s why the record company decided to release Singles and EPs only. Nevertheless, there were UK imported Beatles LPs for sale in Portugal, for the ones that could afford it.
It was only during the middle and late1970s that there were made in Portugal Beatles LPs.

  2. There were no LP edited in Portugal from foreign artists until the end of the 70’s, only singles and EP singles… Otherwise, lots of foreign LP come to Portugal imported and at a very good price. I still have some of them and I must say that I remember they were extremely cheap (The Beatles included). Then came the 25 of April of 1974 (the revolution) and all became gradually full of taxes… A little like the entry of the Euro, which was worst because in the day that Euro substituted the Escudo, everything became two times more expensive, included LP. Just as an example I remember that in the day before the Euro was establish, a glass of bear costed 100 Escudos (0,50 Euros), and the next day the same glass of bear costed 1,00 Euro (200 Escudos).
