The Beatles’ ‘Back In The USSR’ was released as a single in the United Kingdom on 25 June 1976.
It was issued to promote the Rock ‘N’ Roll Music compilation, which had been released earlier in the month. ‘Twist And Shout’ was on the b-side, making it the band’s first EMI single to include a cover version.
The single peaked at number 19 on the UK singles chart. It also reached number 11 in Ireland, and 19 in Sweden.
