‘One’ is the opening song on Ringo Starr’s 11th solo studio album, 1998’s Vertical Man.
It was recorded at co-producer Mark Hudson’s Whatinthewhatthe? Studios in Los Angeles, during the first set of album sessions in March 1997. The song’s working title was ‘All It Takes Is One’.
Pedal steel guitar was added to ‘One’ by Jeff ‘Skunk’ Baxter on 7 November.
