This is nigh-impossible, but using only Lennon/McCartney, Harrison or Starr compositions, could you create a best of album featuring only 14 tracks.

Please Please Me ,

Hey Bulldog ,

She Loves You ,

Get Back ,

I Want To Hold Your Hand

Hey Jude ,

 A Hard Day’s Night ,

Back In The USSR ,

I Feel Fine ,

I Am The Walrus ,

Ticket To Ride ,

Strawberry Fields Forever ,

Yesterday ,

We Can Work It Out ,Help ,

To Be honest, this selection is greatly influenced by what were in fact single or double A sided tracks, not so many album tracks… but then 14 songs is such a limited number. There are probably as many album tracks that I would have preferred to use.

Nearly impossible, I'm sure I'll leave out some of the best, but I'll give it a go.

Norwegian Wood (This Bird has Flown)

Tell Me Why

You've Got to Hide Your Love Away

Every Little Thing

Yesterday

Nowhere Man

Please Please Me

She Said She Said

Happiness Is A Warm Gun

Hey Jude

I Want You (She's So Heavy)

I Will

Because

A Day In The Life

I went in order of Please Please Me Rubber Soul in the first half, and Revolver to the end on the second half, just for organizational purposes. I left out way too many classics and favourites of mine, but, that's the way it goes. And I went with more of a personal opinion other than just plain good songs. So, it may be the best album for me, but others would probably much rather throw in alternatives.

Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!

Ergh! It’s funny how easily things change… because looking at my list now provokes so many changes! I’ll leave it alone, but if you asked me the same question now I’d give you an entire different list, I assure you.

An impossible question, of course, and I would also have a different answer every time I try — but here, off the top of my head:

In My Life

Julia

Please Please Me

Why Don’t We Do It in the Road

Here Comes The Sun

All You Need Is Love

She’s Leaving Home

Revolution

Yesterday

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

I Am The Walrus

Lovely Rita

Norwegian Wood

A Day In The Life
