Yesterday , I found an announcement at Variety about Jonas Akerlund being about to direct a movie about the life of Brian Epstein, called “Midas Man – the Brian Epstein story” for release in 2021. About this film: https://midasmanmovie.com
I got blisters on my fingers!

Sounds like a good way to get a biopic about all the 4 together without focusing on one individual Beatle.
Yet…the movie will end probably around Brians death so we’ll not see anything from 1968 to 1970. At least from what I’m assuming.

Filming actually began in Liverpool in October but was shut down because, depending on whose version you believe, they were unhappy with Jonas Akerlund as director, or he had clashes with other work that meant he couldn’t continue. There are rumours he may be suing the producers, which makes the former seem more likely.
Don’t know if they’ve reached an agreement and he continues as director, or if another director has been brought in, but filming restarted in London in late November and – after a break for Christmas – will resume in January in Los Angeles.
Myself, @KyleKartan, I expect it will be a biopic about Brian rather than a sideways way of doing a Beatles biopic. Obviously the Beatles will feature, but the focus will be very much Brian – and Brian was about more than just the Beatles. Rosie Day is said to have a big role as Cilla Black (one of Brian’s favourites among his stable), for example.

Curious! We will see how it will turn out. Its good that he gets the attention he deserves

Any news of this film ? I am very curious to watch this movie and I hope it will not turn like that :
I share with you the rare images we get of the production :
Well, We can see who is who when they are all in the photo, that’s a good thing buuuut there is something wrong… maybe, they look too “clean”. When they recorded, they weren’t in suits, they were decontracted, I think , it’s that bugs me. I hope they will not reprensented during the whole movie like models. I want real Beatles not the cover magazine version.
I think, the actor looks quite good in this photo !

I’d watch it in the cinema but doesn’t look likely there is a cinema run.
John looks more like Freddy from Freddy and The Dreamers, maybe they had the wrong picture.
One note of interest is that the Beatles version of ‘Besame Mucho ‘ is used in the trailer. Does this mean the film has Beatles music throughout, only in the trailer or because the song is out of copyright (tho I think I read somewhere that it now wasn’t for some reason which involved more changing laws but that could be wrong)

….Why?
WHY is it so hard to make The Beatles LOOK and SOUND like The Beatles?!
What is this darned obsession people have with putting mop top wigs on any random four people and calling it a day?! Is it really so hard to focus on actually getting it right?! For god’s sake, I’ve seen tribute bands do a better job!
Why do we go through this every single film? First that god awful Doctor Who episode, and now this. Are these people the least bit self aware?
Ugh, im sorry. Rant over – I’ll try to give it a shot anyway, but man…bad Beatles just ruin every movie for me.

Okay, I have to give them credit where it’s due here. It seems like they were accurate here. They didn’t go for any of the urban legends, didn’t make it out to seem like Pete was arrogant or blind to reality, just two men in a tough position with Brian doing what has to be done. I like that. Hope the rest of the film strives to be faithful to facts as well.

I dont think they look as bad as you describe it but I agree that lots of “beatles” pictures go with some cheap wigs and thats it. I think though that they have the mannerism of the Beatles worked out quite good. John sounds like him and Paul is pretty accurate too. Also George. I guess its hard to get this look exactly right with actual hair because of different hair structures and stuff.
I’ll wait for the Sam Mendes biopic quadrology to see how they manage to solute this problem! But I also look for to this movie. As a non UK living guy I’ll have to wait to see this though. Same with the movie “Unsinkable – Titanic untold” which is streamable in the UK and nowhere else…
