I was just looking over some old threads and thought I’d return to this one. Ted’s two on the 23rd, and is doing fine. He’s able to pick out pictures of The Beatles, can sing along to She Loves You , but (despite my best efforts) really is more interested in Peppa Pig.
If you were ever wondering why I don’t post here very often, why the site rarely gets major updates and why I don’t post progress reports on my book very often, the answer’s about three feet tall and troublesome.
While I’m here, Ellie and I are expecting our second, due at the start of October, so expect to see even less of me! No names chosen yet (we’ll find out what we’re having on Thursday). There’s a thread for Beatles baby names which was started last time around (Ellie’s first and only post, I believe) which we can dip into if we need inspiration, but I think we’ll go for something different this time.

Before Ted’s name was decided, he was referred to as ‘Baby Ringo’. Once the sex is determined, we will have to come up with another ‘temp’ name.

He’s got rudimentary understanding of words and sentences at the moment, but we’ve been introducing him to the idea. “What’s that, Teddy?” “Tummy!” “And what’s inside mummy’s tummy?” “A baby!” That sort of thing. So he knows but doesn’t fully understand. We’ve got a book for young kids about a new addition to the family that we read to him (it’s called There’s A House Inside My Mummy). But I think Junior Two (that’s our current codename, Zig) will still take a lot of getting used to – Ted’s been the family focus for so long and probably won’t like sharing our attention.
Von B – initially we thought the due date was 11 Oct, so I was hoping for a birth on the ninth, but we got our dates wrong – during the 12-week scan they measured the baby and it was a week older than we thought. Never mind, I don’t believe in reincarnation anyway.
