We usually put up the tree and the decoration the weekend after Sinterklaas, which is the 5th of December. My brother and sister's birthday is the 16th, but once we put up all the Christmas stuff after their Birthday, on the 20th or something and that felt weird and useless. Putting it all up after Halloween is just plain ridiculous.

I just looked up Sinterklaas, since you mentioned it several times. Interesting. So is both Sinterklaas and Christmas celebrated where you live?

The Examiner has an article on Christmas gifts for the Beatle fan in your life. :-)

A slightly drunk Kim Wilde on the tube after the MagicFM (radio station she DJs for) Christmas party last year. The guy on guitar is her brother, Ricky, who wrote much of her stuff - including Kids in America. Love this!

For anyone who has never heard them here are the complete 1963 -> 1969 Christmas messages the Beatles made for their fan club.

Plus two 1965 Christmas Recording outtakes - not from the Think For Yourself vocal overdub recording session

^ Always loved listening to those around Christamas time.

How have we got to 11 pages already, when it's only the 1st of December today?

Which, in turn, was a continuation of a thread started by meanmistermustard on 1 December 2011.

That's a funny coincidence! And yeah, recycling is very important! Good for the environment, let's say.

@WETSRoosa Yeah both is celebrated, but most people do the whole presents-thing either on Sinterklas or Christmas. Not both. We do it on Sinterklaas and Christmas is just food, music, decoration, movies, visiting the church to see a choir and just family stuff. When we were young ''Sinterklaas'' (an actor) would visit us with his ''zwarte pieten'' on the 5th of December and he would read about us in his book and there would be this huge sack with presents my parents bought. We also celebrated it at school. Of course we all used to believe Sinterklaas really existed. This year we drew lots with our name and wishlist on it. We have to buy presents, fabricate some kind of poem and craft something creative in which you put the present, it's called a surprise. We used to do that at school, but at home we do it without the surprise. I drew my sister's lot and I have bought all the presents already, which was quite hard because the only thing she wrote down was ''just buy me something fun..or an H&M giftcard'', which isn't fun to give. I yet have to write a poem, but it'll probably be kind of mean since she behaved like a complete douchebag this year.

I don't know if this has been asked previously. Does anyone have any Beatle Christmas decorations?

I have a Yellow Submarine ornament.

Perhaps you should ask this question over on the "I can't stop buying Beatles stuff" threada-hard-days-night-george-10

If they don't have any (or even if they do), you might give them an idea for their next purchase.

Haha they can go broke just decorating the tree before ever buying Beatles Christmas presents. Nah, there actually isn't that many decorations that I am aware of.

What was this Beatles Christmas Show?

Is this real? If so, what a nice Christmas surprise.

The Beatles did two Christmas shows, coinciding roughly with the the pantomime season in the UK.

They were pretty much variety shows — several musical acts, comedy sketches involving The Beatles, ending with a musical set from them.

The Beatles' Christmas Show ran at the Astoria Cinema, Finsbury Park, London between 24 December 1963 and 11 January 1964.

Another Beatles Christmas Show ran at the Hammersmith Odeon, London between 24 December 1964 and 16 January 1965.

It is real, although John thought it was the Decca audition and it was actually something else--I don't remember what....I think BBC recordings?

Looks like the '63 show and the Astoria Cinema, Finsbury Park, London. Here is one of Joe's entries for the show and a more modern picture of the cinema

Since i'm here, this is probably my favourite Christmas song, Doris Day's rendition of Winter Wonderland. Really feels like Christmas with snow falling outside when i hear it.

Carol of The Bells is one my favorite Christmas songs. I first heard it in Home Alone as a kid, but I really fell in love in when I took choir in middle school. I love the complexity of it.

Anyone remember what advert that version of Carol of the Bells was used in, i think it was a supermarket but cant remember? Don't remember it in Home Alone which is one of those films i never think is any good but always enjoying watching.  Is it Kevin he is running home to prepare all the traps for the crooks coming in?
