‘Bamboula’ is the seventh song on Ringo Starr’s 18th solo studio album, 2015’s Postcards From Paradise.
The song was originally demoed by Starr under the title ‘Clav Funk’.
‘Bamboula’ was co-written by Starr and Van Dyke Parks, who also played piano, accordion, and synthesizer. The two men previously co-wrote 1998’s ‘La De Da’, 2010’s ‘Walk With You’, and 2012’s ‘Samba’, and Parks performed on three songs on 2003’s Ringo Rama.
