I have an extremely difficult time believing that was painted by a not yet 4 year old Julian. The Beatles spent an “eight-hour night time session on 28 February 1967 rehearsing the song” Julian was born April 1963.
specially since his mother studied Art and probably spent lots of time with him drawing at home whilst John was touring or recording, so he was probably much more advantadged than the average kid
i will believe whatever Julian says this is; he was there, whilst none of us were anywhere near.
It takes nothing away from the song itself if I believe the Julian Lennon story, and its much more pleasant than thinking the song is solely an ode to psychedelia drug use. But just like “Is Paul really dead?”, “Is Stevie Nicks a witch?”, did Jimmy Page put secret backward messages on his songs?” or “Is Jim Morrison or Tupac really alive?”, “Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds” will always be a great song with very interesting history and conspiracy.

Wow, good point. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone question that Julian painted it. If it was him, he certainly wasted his talent by singing.
To everyone who doesn’t believe a kid could draw a bunch of colorful shapes… That’s not very nice.

Yes. And it’s the story John himself explicitly stated when asked about it after release. And John was upfront about his inspirations and lsd usage
