I know that version isn’t. But I mean the Mind Games version.

Its a decent song sung wrong. I like the Anthology version but not the commercial version due to the vocals.
The Mind Games tracks that are on the Anthology are far better than on the album. I hate the production on I Know (I Know), to me the drums and guitar shouldnt be there, the demo is far better suited to the song due to its fragile nature of just John and his guitar.

Of course it’s his opinion. We all know that. I agree with him wholeheartedly – Mind Games is intolerably produced. I fail to see why he needs to state “I think” or “In my opinion” because it is clearly opinion. You can disagree – go right ahead. But don’t expect people to say explicitly, on an opinion forum, that they’re stating an opinion (I learned it first hand). I answered the question – everything else after has been opinion.

Im sorry but its a public forum of course it was my opinion. Im not going to write i think or in my opinion before typing everything. If there is a conversation in public and someone mentions a song i dont like i’ll say “its a dreadful song” not “in my opinion its a dreadful song”. Anyway i did write “to me the drums and the …”.
Anyway apologies if my post(s) annoyed you tho Strawberry it wasnt meant to.

No Mr. Mustard, I apologize. I guess because it’s text, my statement was taken to far. I only meant the fact that it’s your opinion. Didn’t really mean anything more than that. Sorry, if it was taken wrong.
All I wanted to know was if the Mind Games version was sped up just a little bit. I think this post is….. over? done? Whatever it is, the question is resolved.
Once again, Mr. Mustard, it meant nothing. Just a closing statement.

Absolutely no problem in the slightest. Thats the problem with text, you cant always pick up on the right tone intended in the words, sentences and posts. Have learnt that the very hard way elsewhere.

Out of all posters, it’s very unlikely I’ll get mad at meanmistermustard. He posts good stuff on all of my posts. As well as Mr. Sun King who’s also a great poster.

I actually like One Day (At A Time) in some way, but it is a really surreal song. That lazy, bopping beat, John’s crooning vocal, sax solo, the clattering production, the female backing vocals which should be dreamy but hit some REALLY hideous chords. I sometimes feel like this was a parody of the kind of stoned, slushy songs Wings were doing.

I can delete topics (and do if they’re spammy etc). You can delete your own individual messages, and I see you have done with the first one. Generally I’d rather people didn’t, as it messes up the continuity (eg Paulsbass is now replying to a non-existent post), but it’s not up to me.

Yes, I can close topics, but it’s normally only worthwhile if things have gone out of control (eg arguments, way off topic etc). In the case of this thread there’s no need to close it – someone might discover it in the future and add something new.
