I guess I should’ve said, when it comes to slash pairings, it’s usually John with Paul, and Ringo with George. Clearly, McLennon is the bigger of the two. My apologies for not making that clear in my previous comment.

Offline Not all fanfiction is romance, there are quite a few gen fics that are quite wonderful.
I am reading With Strings Attached and it is a sci fy fic about the Beatles on another planet.
I have also found plenty of other gen fics that are fairly good.

Offline I have a slightly different version of that meme
Anyway
I have tried writing fanfiction but however innocent I try and make them they always end up slushy and slashy. Guess I’m just an ol’ romantic.
I hang around Tumblr and get my Beatles ff fix from there. There’s some quite good ones. I’ve found it difficult to find good stories on other sites. One story I quite liked reading I can’t find anymore! (Don’t you hate it when that happens? )

Does Fanfic have Beatles fic? I thought Ficwad was the only one with a celebrities/real people category?

Offline Oh my gosh! I never thought about looking there! That’s a little treasure trove isn’t it? Devientart is very hit or miss. Maybe it’s me being a bit of a literature snob but when they do the stories in “script format” I find it hard to read. Archive of our own is good too! I keep hitting unfinished from over a year ago fics which is sad, some of them are really good!

A really great starting point is anything by dasliebchenkind. Her stories are well written, and include a variety of pairings. You might like her George centered story ‘True Love Ways‘, a straight forward romance, about George falling in love with a girl, during a trip to the States to visit his older sister.
Another story you might like is one of mine is Words Of Love. George falls hard for young black woman who is in a girl group who is one of the supporting acts during the Beatles Christmas show.

Thanks! I really like how you based a fanfic on George and Estelle Bennett. I’ve always found their relationship really interesting and wish there was more information about it. I just remember an article Estelle wrote once, but it was from the 60’s so she couldn’t be fully honest.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of information about George and Estelle’s relationship. I’m curious to know how it developed, how serious it might’ve been, and why it came to an end. You really should check out dasliebchenkind’s stuff if you haven’t already. She has another George story on her site ‘Sighs and Whispers’, that’s more racy, but you might enjoy that one as well.
