I still enjoy fanfiction sometimes, but finding something interesting to read is a challenge. There’s just so much chaff! I realise it’s a bit of a strange genre to get all snobbish about, but I just can’t handle the flat characters, ooc, piss-poor story archs, and deplorable language 98% of these stories possess. It’s sort of like this:

I’m a good writer…. Maybe I should write my own.

^I think that would be good.

I’m not a good writer. I enjoy reading them.

I don’t like stories with ‘I suck at summaries”

Do you want an honest opinion?

You’re introducing a female original character in the first paragraph, and your leading male character (Paul) has the hots for her. That’s classic Mary Sue, and I never read those. The first impression of your dialogue wasn’t bad. It’s the Mary Sue that makes me not want to read it. I’m 100% sure there’ll be an audience for it, though! Best of luck with it heart

First chapter last paragraph has multiple people speaking which can confuse the reader so I would break that up by character.

maybe so from

“So talk to your bandmates as soon as you can.” “I will and thank you Mr. Epstein”. I hear Brian’s foot steps and sees him pass by me. I hold my breath. I wait until I hear the back door close. I run to the back exit. I see a silhouette and call her name. “Marilynn”? I saw the silhouette move.

I like how you use present tense on a story set in modern day 😛

I’m not a fan of the OC romance genre so I’d be inherently bias against your story but it looks fine just not my cup of tea.

SOMETHING NEW for EVERY BEATLES FAN.
A climatic work of suspense fiction filled with premium Fab Four trivia, invented characters named after the lad’s recognized associates, and a tall tale of criminal activity that stands head and shoulders above the perfect crime, all interwoven among buried Beatles song titles, concealed within the text that will amuse any John, Paul, George and Ringo devotee’s search throughout the chapters.

“BEATLEMANIAC”
Don W. Maeder’s Thrilling Debut Novel. Available at your favorite online eBook websites. Only $4.99

When female city employees of Ash Lyn, California, start to die after being bilked out of their life savings and show no signs of struggle or point of entry wounds, FBI headquarters in D.C. assigns young and sexy Agent Heath Wilson to apprehend the killer. However, the only useful clue that links the deaths are mysterious e-mails that brilliantly mask references to the Beatles. Once they’re read, the intended victim has only hours until she’s dead. Can Heath capture the Beatlemaniac before he strikes again?

Beatlemaniac is a fatal whodunit game of cat and mouse chase on a tight schedule.

If you like twist and turn action, a powerful reciprocated love at first sight romance, and an FBI agent with a quirky sense of humor, you will love Don W. Maeder’s original first book.

Right before your eyes, an evil grudge unfolds the driven madness of greed pitted against the wit and charm of a hotshot lawman inexperienced with women, who can’t help but wonder if the perfect crime has finally been committed. . . over and over again.

That’s okay, Mademoiselle Kitty, Amazon.com has a look inside feature to let readers view the first four chapters free, which is about 60 pages.  Therefore, no need to be sorry, friend.

Paul McCartney ‘s first set of paintings pretty much put me off of my tea also, but I’d still take a look at his artwork if images were made available online.

The kettle is on the boil, and we’re so easily torn away.

I was looking though some old Beatles fanfiction, and I notice that a bunch of it is “Paul In Pain” where something bad happens to Paul. I wonder why he is the Beatle that gets mostly picked on in fanfiction. The others do get their pain but not to the exent of stories that Paul gets picked on.

I guess for the same reason he’s usually portrayed as a girly, scared, crying weakling. People somehow need someone to be the ‘woman’ or the ‘victim’ in their stories, and Paul, due to his public persona and looks, is the easiest choice for that.

Surprised it isn’t Ringo cause he’s so little and he admits himself that he is more emotional. Plus his tendency to get sick all the time.

Has there been a McLennon that put these together:

“I’ll write home every day and send All My Loving to you” from Paul
and
Mr. Postman by John waiting for a letter to come.

I was looking at some fanfic and I saw this.

Oh, and I kind of ignored Cynthia and Jane completely.

Wonder how things would be diffrent if everyone ignored them?

Also, I found a fic writer that’s nice.

I drop in occasionally.

The first time I thought “hey I wonder if there’s any Beatles fanfiction out there” I looked on fanfiction.net and was pretty shocked at the amount of (very graphic) McLennon fanfics people wrote. I knew there were people who shipped John and Paul, but I had no idea it was to that extent.

Honestly I’m more entertained by the thought of how Paul would react if he ever read one!

Edit – might have been Archive of Our Own actually.

I’ve read some Beatles fanfics in my day, they’re pretty fun to read. The one I write is basically me taking things that have some base in reality, and making it some insane story, sometimes involving my own characters.
