Travel: John Lennon – Hamilton to New York

John Lennon returned to New York from Hamilton, Bermuda, on 28 July 1980.

Lennon had arrived in Bermuda on 11 June, having set sail from New York one week earlier. He stayed there for six weeks, exploring the islands and writing the songs which would make up the bulk of Double Fantasy and the posthumous album Milk And Honey.

He departed from Hamilton on board American Airlines flight 636, accompanied by his son Sean, assistant Fred Seaman, and Sean’s nanny Uneko Uda.
