John Lennon and Yoko Ono flew from Washington, DC to Chicago on 10 May 1972.
They had been in DC to attend a party thrown in their honour the previous night.
Upon their arrival in Chicago, they checked in at the Ambassador East Hotel, and in the evening they saw comedian Dick Gregory perform at Mister Kelly’s.
