You guys, I was at a party earlier tonight (last night?) and you know what? It was a boring party -- I was bored. So bored that I thought that I'd be having more fun alone at a computer on a Saturday night posting on here. Oof.

What made it boring?
Disclosure: I am not a huge fan of parties. Dinner parties, poker nights, etc., sure. Standing around, making small talk over loud music until the food arrives, no.

Ha ha, maybe you'd have liked this one then.
Skye, I was so wishing (on not just stars, but satellites, planes, oldchicken bones…) that we had music going instead of the TV! 
So, my ex boyfriend (whom I'm on pretty good terms with as a friend) just moved into a place and had a house-warming party. I guess the party just boiled down to a thing where people were either watching a crap movie or playing a D&D style card game, neither of which I was interested in.
The whole thing though, is that the vibe was like you're not talking during the movie, and you're not going to bother us during our card game. So…I thought parties were where you got to know people by I don't know…talking to them? I hate schmoozing at "networking events" but during large parties I like going around and talking to others because it's so easy to keep moving on to someone else if you find you aren't clicking with someone/don't have any idea what a person is talking about.
And thanks, Mr. Sun. It's always good to be here.

I'm going to a bowling/board game thingy in a few hours myself. A friend is having a party. I just need to get motivated to get ready for it. Saying this at quarter to 1 when I need to be there at 6 is not a good sign.
