‘Tonight’ is the seventh song on Ringo Starr’s seventh solo album, 1978’s Ringo The 4th.

It was written by Ian McLagan and John Pidgeon. McLagan was a member of The Small Faces, and the song appeared on their fourth studio album, 1977’s Playmates.

McLagan offered the song to Starr, who repaid the favour by performing on McLagan’s debut solo album, 1979’s Troublemaker.

The only UK single taken from Bad Boy was ‘Tonight’, with ‘Heart On My Sleeve’ on the b-side. It was issued on 21 July 1978 but failed to reach the singles chart.

Previous song: ‘Hard Times’
Next song: ‘Monkey See – Monkey Do’
