‘Tango All Night’ is the second song on Ringo Starr’s sixth solo album, 1977’s Ringo The 4th.
It was written by Steve Hague and Tom Seufert from US band La Seine, and originally appeared on their 1967 album Like The River.
‘Tango All Night’ extended the disco feel of the album’s previous song, opener ‘Drowning In The Sea Of Love’. Although to be commended for genre-hopping and attempting to remain relevant throughout the 1970s, Starr’s dabbling in disco ultimately fell flat with record buyers and reviewers.
‘Tango All Night’ was issued as a single in 1978 in Argentina, with ‘It’s No Secret’ on the b-side. In Australia it was the b-side of the ‘Sneaking Sally Through The Alley’ single, released in 1977.
