‘Sunshine Sometime’ is an outtake from Paul McCartney’s sessions for his second post-Beatles album Ram.

The song was written to be part of a planned animated Rupert The Bear film. It was recorded at New York’s Columbia Studios on 29 October 1970.

I kind of remember using some African drums an clicking on the rims with a wooden stick… we built that track as we went, but basic was done with everyone playing at the same time and then a few overdubs to complete it.

‘Sunshine Sometime’ was officially released on the 2012 reissue of Ram.

Overdubs were added, probably in July 1978, including Paul and Linda McCartney’s and Paul’s bass guitar part. That version remains unreleased.
