It was recorded at Ocean Way Recording Studios in Los Angeles in April 2004, and was completed later in the year, during the Chaos And Creation In The Backyard sessions.
Along with ‘Jenny Wren’, it was one of two songs from the sessions to feature Pedro Eustache. On ‘Growing Up Falling Down’ he contributed duduk and didgeridoo parts, recorded on 25 October.
What can I say, it was a once-on-a-lifetime experience… absolutely amazing.
What struck me the most was Sir Paul’s genuine, down-to-earth humility, his serious, no-nonsense work ethics, as well as the depth of his musical sensibility.
The ‘Fine Line’ single was released on 29 August 2005 as the first release from Chaos And Creation In The Backyard. ‘Growing Up Falling Down’ was included on the 7″ vinyl edition and one of the two CD singles.
The 7″ single was also included in the 2022 box set The 7″ Singles Box.
