‘222’ was a bonus track released on the deluxe edition of Paul McCartney’s 14th solo album Memory Almost Full.
The song was written for McCartney’s daughter Beatrice when she was two years old. The video for the song was directed by Marco Sandeman.
McCartney began work on ‘222’ in mid-2006, but it was reworked in early 2007 at RAK Studios.
In addition to appearing on the deluxe edition of Memory Almost Full, it was included in The 7″ Singles Box. The 2002 box set contained a previously-unreleased single – ‘Nod Your Head’, with ‘222’ on the b-side.

Paul reworked this song to make it the soundtrack of the Eyes of the Storm exibition at the National Portrait Gallery. It’s played over speakers in the final room of the exibition, and features on all the social media videos related to it.
