Ok, I’m going to stick to the original intent of the thread, which is to list our ideal setlist for a reunion concert the Beatles could have done before John’s death, with a 20 song cap and with no solo work. Note that this isn’t my 20 favourite Beatles songs, rather those that I think would work best in this context while at least touching on the different phases of their career (though admitedly the setlist is skewed towards their later work).

So here goes.

Main Set
1.  Come Together
2.  Drive My Car
3.  Help !
4.  While My Guitar Gently Weeps
5.  Can’t Buy Me Love
6.  Nowhere Man
7.  Octopus’s Garden
8.  Lady Madonna
9.  A Hard Day’s Night
10. Paperback Writer
11. Strawberry Fields Forever
12. Penny Lane
13. I Am The Walrus
14. Got To Get You Into My Life
15. Something
16. Please Please Me
17. Get Back

Encore
18. All You Need Is Love
19. Let It Be
20. The End

One thing I must ad, is although I’ve never seen the Beatle tour live, I’ve seen soooooo many Tribute Bands and I’d like to see the Beatles do a “Let It Be Comeback Tour”, without the costume changes like the early Beatlemania matching suits, then the Shea Stadium suits, then the Pepper costumes, etc….

Just them dressing individually like they did on the Rooftop!  Some Tribute acts should actually do this….

As to what songs they would play, there are just too many to chose from!!!paul-mccartney

I’m going to do this as a possible reunion concert The Beatles could have done in 95-96 at the time of the Beatles Anthology, if John had lived. I’m also not going to stick to the 20-song limit, rather going with a 50-song concert.

Note that rather than pick all of my favorites, I tried to be representative of the Beatles career as a whole, their UK singles (except ‘Love Me Do ‘) and many of their other most important and popular songs.

First Set
01. Drive My Car
02. Come Together
03. Taxman
04. Can’t Buy Me Love
05. I Want To Hold Your Hand
06. All My Loving
07. Help
08. With A Little Help From My Friends
09. Hello, Goodbye
10. Revolution
11. Paperback Writer
12. From Me To You
13. A Hard Day’s Night
14. Lady Madonna
15. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
16. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds
17. I Am The Walrus
18. Octopus’s Garden
19. Don’t Let Me Down
20. Nowhere Man
21. I’m Down
22. I Feel Fine
23. Ticket To Ride
24. Day Tripper
25. She Loves You
26. Twist And Shout
27. I Saw Her Standing There
28. Please Please Me
29. Get Back

Second Set
30. Strawberry Fields Forever
31. Penny Lane
32. Eleanor Rigby
33. Yellow Submarine
34. Norwegian Wood
35. Blackbird
36. Here Comes The Sun
37. Got To Get You Into My Life
38. Tomorrow Never Knows
39. Helter Skelter
40. Yesterday
41. We Can Work It Out
42. In My Life
43. Something
44. Hey Jude
45. Let It Be
46. All You Need Is Love
47. Give Peace A Chance
48. The End

Encore
49. Free As A Bird
50. Real Love

That is a fantastic set-list, @Left Turn!

Where is 29? May I suggest I Wanna Be Your Man or Octopus’s Garden , as you’ve only included one Ringo song?

OK – here’s the set-up.

The Beatles come back for a reunion concert (let’s say it’s pre-December 1980) – give us your dream set – say up to 20 songs – no solo numbers – only Beatle songs.

It’s a toughie!

2. Help !

3. Ticket To Ride

4. Come Together

5. Something

6. Octopus’s Garden

7. Revolution

8. Let It Be

9. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da

I don’t think so, though if we aren’t bound by reality, could give Paul some wings while we’re at it.

1995 Queen and Beatles with no Lennon or Freddie Mercury? Or is it the dream concert so Dennis Wilson, John and Freddie never died? Either way I like your setlist. This is mine. It includes solo Beatles and happens in 1977.

Set One

Because You Never Give Me Your Money Sun King > Mean Mr. Mustard > Polythene Pam She Came In Through The Bathroom Window

All Things Must Pass

Instant Karma !

Maybe I’m Amazed

I Want To Hold Your Hand

Help !

It Don’t Come Easy

A Hard Day’s Night

Yesterday

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Set 2

I Saw Her Standing There

I Feel Fine

Dear Prudence

Something

I Want You (She’s So Heavy)

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band > A Little Help From My Friends.

Within You Without You

Happiness Is A Warm Gun

Imagine

My Sweet Lord

I’ve Got A Feeling

Backseat of My Car

Sexy Sadie

Golden Slumbers > Carry That Weight > The End

Encore 1

Get Back

For You Blue

Penny Lane

Strawberry Fields Forever

Encore 2

Here Comes The Sun

Let It Be

All You Need Is Love

Helter Skelter

Encore 3

A Day In The Life

"The pump don't work cause the vandals took the handles!"

-Bob Dylan, Subterranean Homesick Blues

"We could ride and surf together while our love would grow"

-Brian Wilson, Surfer Girl

I wrote all my favourite songs I wanted and there were a 50 song list so here’s a condensed version that wouldn’t make the concert last three hours (even though that would have been wonderful). The songs are in order of their career though, from babies to older. I’m also not counting Golden Slumbers , Carry That Weight and The End as separate songs because c’mon. I also really wanted to add In Spite Of All The Danger , but, I decided against it as I’m classing that as pre Beatles.

01. I Saw Her Standing There
02. Devil In Her Heart
03. And I Love Her
04. Things We Said Today
05. No Reply
06. I’ll Follow The Sun
07. The Night Before
08. Ticket To Ride
09. Norwegian Wood
10. If I Needed Someone
11. It’s Only Love
12. Here, There And Everywhere
13. For No One
14. When I’m Sixty-Four
15. Strawberry Fields Forever
16. Your Mother Should Know
17. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
18. Oh! Darling
19. I Me Mine
20. The Long And Winding Road

Encore:
01. Let It Be
02. Don’t Let Me Down
03. Golden Slumbers , Carry That Weight , The End

Didn’t realise how much Paul is in this…Oops.

Thought I’d have another go at this, conforming to the original rules. This concert would be pre-1980 (1976), only consists of 20 songs, and no solo material.

John: Lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar

Paul: Lead vocals, bass, acoustic guitar on Yesterday

George: Lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar on Here Comes The Sun

Ringo: Lead Vocals, drums and percussion

Billy Preston: piano and keyboard

1. Come Together

2. Taxman

3. Got To Get You Into My Life (which segues into)

4. A Hard Day’s Night

5. Honey Don’t

6. Let It Be

7. If I Needed Someone

8. Help !

9. And Your Bird Can Sing

10. Yesterday

INTERVAL

11. With A Little Help From My Friends

12. Here Comes The Sun

13. Bad Boy

14. Lady Madonna

15. I’ve Got A Feeling

16. While My Guitar Gently Weeps

17. Twist And Shout

18. All You Need Is Love

ENCORE

19. Maggie Mae (as a joke)

20. Hey Jude
