note: In keeping with the BB 2014 summer clear-up meanmistermustard merged a handful of Beatles youtube threads together on the 28th July 2014 (more may be added at a later date if found). Due to the vastness and random nature of many of the posts a record of which posts were originally posted in which thread was viewed as not being possible or deemed neccessary to record.

I’m amazed and delighted of the wealth of material that is now available from You Tube.  The other evening I sat down and watched endless bits of concert footage that I’d never seen before.

Once upon a time this sort of footage was just not seen, but now (thankfully) it’s there for us all to enjoy.

It's great, now if only you could hear the music over the screaming girls.

but really, it is awesome to have the chance to see all of the different concerts/ television show performences.

When I've added blog entries for each of The Beatles concerts I'm going to trawl YouTube adding concert footage to the live dates in the /history/ section – it'll be a really nice addition. I'm not sure where a lot of the footage comes from. Presumably local TV crews caught the odd song, though I know Brian Epstein occasionally allowed TV crews to film entire concerts for regional broadcast.

It's great that this stuff has survived. I'm not sure what Apple thinks of it being available – in the past they've been a bit strict over bootlegs, but that may have softened since Neil Aspinall left the company. But it really is great to see stuff that normally doesn't get broadcast, and would otherwise be available to bootleg traders only.

It's astonishing that there are no authorised Beatles live DVDs/CDs/BluRay releases. They'd sell loads. I'm sure Apple's working on something though.

Can buy me love! Please consider supporting the Beatles Bible on Amazon
Or buy my paperback/ebook! Riding So High – The Beatles and Drugs

Don't miss The Bowie Bible – now live!

This also surprised me. Is there any real reason for not having a Shea Stadium concert dvd?

The only problem I have with Shea is we know a lot of the performance was re-recorded and that takes the magic away for me.  What they did with Act Naturally was awful!

One Zak Starkey on drums:

Oh, and The Who, if you're interested…

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Oh my.

That had me labbing about and smiling the smile of someone who's seen a few laughs.

Thanks for sharing that!

How? She got to sing her happy song for the Mousearishi and married a Feeble. Happy ending in my book. 😀

An oldie but a goodie, as they say. My reaction would probably be similar. Lucky bastard.

I've been devouring videos lately (you may have noticed), so here are two I like. It also got me thinking that a thread on In His Own Write might be a good thing.
