Today I borrowed my best friend’s phone, made her a playlist of twenty-seven Beatles songs, and made her promise to listen to it. I very much hope she does. This is the playlist, if anyone is interested (titled ‘The Best Music In The World):

Offline Good job! I hope she listens to it. I tried to do that with one of my friends in middle school and it made her hate the Beatles. Granted, I didn’t like her all that much and I have no idea why we were friends, but still. I hope it works.
(About one third of the songs are ones I’d choose. I can’t believe anyone likes Good Day Sunshine that much, but there you go. People are strange).

Offline Well, I didn’t make her a playlist of the best songs, necessarily, or the songs that are my favorites– I picked the songs that a) I thought she would like the most and b) the songs that no human being could ever possibly dislike (coughcoughheybulldogcough). That’s why most of them are acoustic or simple or quiet or not especially experimental.

But still. Good Day Sunshine ? Is anyone ever in such a good mood that they won’t get completely infuriated by that song to the point where they want to kill their CD player (which is obviously a terrible idea, so I have refrained from doing it thus far…)?
Also, my mom hates Hey Bulldog and always yells at me to turn it off when I try to play it outside my room.

Offline *very not meekly leaps out of hole* GOOD SAY SUNSHINE IS SO GOOD. I don’t get why people hate on songs just for not being angsty enough. Good Day Sunshine is like when you sleep in the sun for a bit and you wake up and everything is warm and bluer than normal. That’s like this song’s essence. Anyway I don’t always have to be in a good mood to listen to this song. Usually happy songs make me feel better when I’m Down (really any kind of music).

Offline I don’t think people hate Good Day Sunshine because it’s not angsty enough. I don’t hate it, I personally just find it a bit annoying.

Good Day Sunshine is one of those songs that is always stuck in my head. Half of the time it annoys me, half of the time it doesn’t.

Offline I’ve been in around 15 different European hotels the past year. This is the first one I found (in a crappy Hamburg airport hotel nonetheless). The walls are so paper-thin, I’m sure everyone heard my “woohoo”.
Also, enjoy my pink pyjamas. I was too lazy to sit up to take a proper photo, I’m busy watching The Devil Wears Prada 😉
