Offline When you’re supposed to be working on a History assignment but you’re listening to The Beatles so you can’t really concentrate but under no circumstances are you going to take out your earbuds so all you’re doing is reading the Beatles Bible and pretending to work on your assignment whenever your mom walks by.

Though I find Beatles good study music, because I’ve listened to them so much; it’s Led Zeppelin I find distracting, because it is literally impossible to listen to Led Zepp quietly and/or in the background.

I agree, I always listen to the Beatles when I do homework (or solo Beatles.) The problem is that a lot of the time I focus on George’s/John’s/Paul’s/Ringo’s voice instead of my work and I’ll just sit there staring off into the distance listening and forget that I was supposed to be working in the first place.
I did finish the assignment though (but not before I made it all the way to Never Get Over You on my playlist)

Offline You know you’re a hardcore Beatles fan when you go to PE and have to run on the track in the cold rain and then you go inside the gym and basketballs are handed out and you’re miserable and the crappy sound system turns on and you’re expecting staticky Bon Jovi or something AND THEN YOU HEAR STATICKY BEATLES MUSIC and you’re instantly in a great mood even though you’re suffering in PE and She Loves You , I Want To Hold Your Hand , Can’t Buy Me Love , and A Hard Day’s Night play and you’re sad when it’s time to go which never ever happens.
I hate PE. I love The Beatles.

Offline So yesterday I was playing a glockenspiel part in a friend’s composition at a concert, and I ended up getting a lift home with my friend’s parents without my friend in the car (that’s a long story). Eventually, I mentioned I got a new bass and that I’d been studying ABBA’s basslines, and his dad took a 180 degree turn and talked about Paul McCartney being the Beatles’ bassist. I said ‘you know that originally he was the pianist for a short time then moved to guitar until Stu’s death, then he took up bass for lack of bassists?’ and he said ‘that’s completely rubbish’ and we had quite a heated argument for quite a while until he realised that he was dealing with a very hardcore Beatles fan…

Except he wasn’t originally the pianist, he was the second rhythm guitarist alongside John.
He would sometimes play piano when it suited the song and a piano was available, and spent a short period exclusively on piano when he was without a guitar, but he joined The Quarrymen as a guitarist and guitar was his main instrument in the band up until taking over on bass.
