@sigh butterfly No, I don't think it was a Quarrymen member. Like Lucy pointed out, in context Paul seems to genuinely sell the group for a performance. Considering he caters to "old folk music" I think Din Low, at 70 years old, would be a target audience.

What is Din short for? When was the Cavern built? How much of a hangout was it, did it attract older people in the WW2 years, sort of a Cheers bar, which makes 70 year old Din Low make sense. Maybe if it was around in the Roaring 20s, black waiters or servants worked there, vis a vis, Negro In Reserve.
