Offline A home demo of ‘Within You, Without You’ exists in George’s archive alongside ‘Isn’t It A Pity ‘. Will probably never happen but a George career retrospective which went from his earliest Beatles demos right up to his last recordings would be one of the greatest sets ever. Doubt it would need clearance from Apple if no other Beatles were on the recordings.

George gives really good performances on his demos. John and even Paul would often record demos once they had the shell of the song, a tune and some chords. In many cases theyll hum or use nonsense syllables to fill in unfinished lyrics, and a lot of the time especially for John hes just playing really simple chords on the piano. George’s demos are more fleshed out, with the guitar parts more polished and the lyrics essentially finished.
