I once requested Taxman and the radio DJ was like “WHY DO YOU WANNA HEAR TAXMAN????” and I replied with, “Because I freakin' love that song!”. Turns out I accidently called the Classical station instead of the Classic Rock station xD

But eventually called the Classic Rock station and requested it,
they gave me Let It Be instead xD

Once time the radio was turned to the 60's station in gym class and Can't Buy Me Love came on. Two of my friends (who are as equally obsessed as I am with the band) and I started singing along and dancing like idiots

I WAS GREAT!

you have friends who are obsessed with Beatles.? ohhh, you're so lucky. almost all of my friends dislike them. I had a friend who loved them, but he eventually got tired of them. (he just called me on Skype, what a coincidence) and most of my friends know only “Yesterday ” and maybe some other songs. of course, there are some people who like them but not so much than me.

That is hilarious!!!! Poor radio station guy, must've been awkward.a-hard-days-night-paul-1

I've never bothered to request anything. That does it, I'm calling the radio and requesting something really obscure to get back at them for only playing the obvious stuff.

"Now and then, though, someone does begin to grow differently. Instead of down, his feet grow up toward the sky. But we do our best to discourage awkward things like that."

"What happens to them?" insisted Milo.

"Oddly enough, they often grow ten times the size of everyone else," said Alec thoughtfully, "and I’ve heard that they walk among the stars."

I once requested Love Me Do on a radio show where the dj said they would play any song as long as it was broadcastable and they had it! He didnt, not even a substitute of From Me To You , let it be or anything – and it was a 60's, 70's and more radio station.

Ali, i bet the dj tells that story often to all who listen and they dont stop laughing.

When I hear a Beatles song on the radio, I think of my number 1 rule:  Do not change the station when a Beatles song is on.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 And the number 2 rule is “one must always sing along when a Beatles song comes on the radio.”

For some reason there is great delight in hearing the announcer say The Beatles afterwards. It doesnt feel complete without that addition.

When I hear a Beatles song on the radio it really fixes my day…
And when on 9/8 (John's birthday) a station that I was randomly listening to played two of his songs i really got exited…

That was when you should have said, “In that case, I wanna hear 'Roll Over Beethoven '!”

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

It’s probably so much more exciting than hearing it on shuffle, just knowing that a whole lot of people are listening in too, and the radio announcer saying their names. Apparently my dad heard In My Life and Glass Onion on the radio but I haven’t heard anything.

I’m happy, but after a few notes I start to panic because I know the song won’t last long enough. I know I won’t want it to end.

If I’m in a a public place, I usually end up embarrassing myself out of pure excitement. Like the other day I was in a cafe with my dad, and it was fairly busy, but not so busy that I couldn’t hear Thank You Girl come through the speakers. I was so ecstatic that I slammed my hand down on the table which made all the silver wear rattle, and shrieked “ITSTHEBEATLES” very loudly and quickly so that everyone turned and looked at me.

I’ve started thinking about how at any given moment, Beatles songs are being played somewhere, so even as I type, people are hearing that music. Isn’t that a weirdly comforting thought? Definitely something worth announcing loudly in a cafe.

We were just trying to write songs about prostitutes and lesbians

I get really excited when its one of the lesser played songs as opposed to the songs that played over and over like Hey Jude , Come Together ,etc.

What kind of radio stations are you guys listening to that play Beatles music? Here in the Toronto area, most of the stations appear to have one format that they don’t deviate from, so that I’d rarely hear them anywhere but on the Classic Rock station. (A format which I’m led to believe isn’t really prevalent outside of North America.)

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

I always go ”BEATLES!!!” and start singing along really badly depending on the song. Sometimes I want it to be quiet so I can listen to the song. I get excited, especially when it’s ”an ordinary album track”. Oh and of course I love it when they announce it beforehand or afterwards. It makes it complete indeed! When they say it it kind of gives you a funny feeling, doesn’t it
