I.e., what Beatles songs sung by Paul may have sounded better sung by John, and vice versa.
Also to include George songs, and Ringo songs.
Also to include solo work.
For the latter, I’ll kick it off by suggesting that Paul’s “Let Me Roll It “ would have sounded cool sung by John (though not necessarily better).
Also, Paul’s “Picasso’s Last Words” sung by Ringo.
I’m sure I’ll think of others, but I have to catch a bus now…

Oh! Darling by John. I love the Anthology version so much more than Abbey Road , the joint lead vocals are absolutely gorgeous, so to hear a John lead.

Honey Don’t – John used to do this live but luckily they switched to Ringo for the album.

The only George song that I have never listened to all of it, I quit after 10 seconds. I mean I’ve listened to all of Bye, Bye Love but Get Back is a no-go area…WHY GEORGE WHY???

George is known to have displeased John with this…

Never mind the lyrical changes the whole damn thing blows due to dragging. Sorry George but what the hell was that meant to be, it certainly isn’t listenable.

George was singing “In My Life ” in 1974, when his voice was famously “hoarse,” around the time he released the song “Dark Horse .” (oddly enough) With his voice like this, he would have sounded pretty good croaking Lennon’s “I’m So Tired .”

It’s not his voice that makes the song suck, its lacking any punch and takes flippin’ forever to get anywhere. 2 1/2 minutes in i’d be getting to the twitching point of wanting the next track, 4 minutes in it would be sitting down bored, 6 minute’s in i’d be lying on the ground with my eyes closed singing John’s original in my head.

Maybe he was trying to appeal to the slower prog rock fans….I mean most of Pink Floyd’s songs drag on a bit….not to mention King Crimson and Wishbone Ash.
"White Album - My joint-fave Beatles album along with Revolver. They show the two sides of Beatles. Revolver's very controlled - even though it's also very innovative. The White Album's playful and almost ramshackle. It's like a scrapbook kept by a genius. Fantastic stuff."

There is a difference, though. Pink Floyd’s music, in my humble-if-slightly-biased opinion, doesn’t ”drag on” because there’s enough going on to keep it interesting, to put it simply. That ^ doesn’t, which is why it ”drags”.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

I’ll be the perverse one to say I kind of like George’s version of “In My Life .” Something about the mellow groove. And it’s sweet he added that bit about missing the others (and surprising he listed Paul first).
That version of “Get Back ” was pretty unlistenable though.

I quite like George’s hoarse voice…probably the first person in the world to say that It’s got something to it, character I don’t know. So Olivia & Dhani, release 1974 tour now and while you’re at it Japan concerts would be great as well!

The George Harrison cover of “In My Life ” is interesting, but three things turn me off about it:
The bluesy alteration of a song that should be a straight folky song as John and Paul conceived it.
The plodding drums.
George’s voice seems quite out of shape there (perhaps just a bad day and didn’t have the luxury of re-recording, as it was live) — he consistently is unable to hit the low note that repeats throughout the song.
Also, I could barely understand what he was mumbling half the time; I never heard him mention Paul.

I agree about George’s in my life being boring(no offense to anyone who likes it)
There’s making your own style out of it and then there’s reducing it’s speed x4
O.K. That made me laugh. Good one!

I believe there are a couple of good shows from George’s ’74 tour, from towards the end of the concert run, but from what i’ve heard a full album wouldn’t benefit George’s legacy. Of course a couple of songs, namely Hari’s on Tour and For You Blue from two different venues, have been released on Songs by George Harrison (i forget if it was volume 1 or 2).
[Only 3 1/2 grand to buy those volumes by the way.].
