When I stop to think about it, I’m more likely to call them John, Paul, and George when I’m referring to them during their Beatles days, and calling them Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison for post-Beatles years.
Ringo I call Ringo most all of the time, but if I were to use Starr, it would only be for the post-Beatles time.
Do you find you have a tendency to use their first or last names?

Especially when I’m here, and it feels like we’re all a big Beatlefamily, then I’m inclined to use first names, yes (or James P.’s middle name.) But if I was writing a more extended multi-sentence paragraph about one of them, I’d likely throw in the occasional “Lennon” or “McCartney” for balance, rather than re-using “John” or “Paul” excessively, “cause I hate repeating words in my paragraphs, if avoidable.

I always have used first names. It is interesting how this is used with Athletes. Lebron James is Lebron, Luka Doncic is Luka, Aaron Judge is Judge, Patrick Mahomes is Mahomes. Typically the mononym comes from the more unique name.
I use full names for the Beatles when talking about them in places where its not obvious that Im talking about the Beatles like it is here. Lennon is the only who I’ll refer to by his last name.

I think I use their full names for context if I am just bringing them up, and first names thereafter. I’ll thrown in a Macca for Paul every Now And Then .
In fact, on more than one occasion I have searched online for something vague like “parents George” and become frustrated that Google doesn’t instantly recognise that I mean Harrison.
