Every time 'Good King Wenceslas' is mentioned, I hear the Fabs yodelling it my head.
And I've been telling people, 'Merry Krimble and a Happy Goo Year.'
It's been a funny old year you know. One minute we're in England, next we're away. 'Spect you've been wondering where we've been!* So much travelling! But you've stayed loyal, haven't you
*John cuts in: "So are we."
One of the highlights from all of the records (from 1964):
John speakin'. Thanks all of you bought me book. Thank you folks for buying it. It was very handy. I notice there was another one out pretty soon. It says here. Hope you buy that, too. It'll be the usual rubbish but it won't cost much. You see, that's the bargain we're going to strike up.

Hap..py Christmas... and a merry goo year.
I was listening to the first three earlier. Such laughs! I really love John's speech in 'Another Beatles Christmas record', where he flaunts the scripted-ness of his script. 'It says here...'

Thanks for the tip!
So, was that one a Derek Taylor original?

It was probably a Lennon-ism. Think In His Own Write and A Spaniard in the Works.

"Well, Beatle people, we've been to Australia and America and New Ze... who's dropping that? - New Zealand and Australia..."
"...and New Zealand"

I dropped that bit in order to get to the punchline more cleanly. Sometimes comedy on the page needs to be more compact than to the ear, says the comedy nerd lol.
I think 64 is a terrific record, 65 they get really bored with the script and start playing up almost immediately. 'How about we'll gather lilacs in an Old Brown Shoe ?' John does about 5 different voices in 3 minutes and there's liberal doses of sarcasm from all.
Christmas comes but once a year but when it comes it brings good cheer because we've got a hu hu hu hu hu morninggggg...

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

I was joking about the signatures. Sorry, bit of a fail, I know.

Wanted to note: On xmas record 1968, George saying, 'Well here we are again, another fab Christmas...' in the most unenthusiastic dull way possible. At least the others are trying (happtchristmashappynewyear-Once upon a pool table-It will be Ringo Starr *yayyyyy*), but George is just like, 'blublubluh get me outta here now'.
Sigh... whatever happened to the happy Fabs that we once knew... 'tis sad.

Listening over them all, I've decided '64 and '66 are my favourites. The former has John saying 'thanks to all of you who bought my book--thanks all of ye for buying it, it was very handy. And there's another out pretty soon, it says here. Hope you buy that too. It'll be the usual rubbish but it won't cost much, y'see; that's the bargain we're going to strike up,' which is one of the best things ever. And the latter has EVRYWHERE IT'S CHRISTMAAAAAS--London! Paris! Rome! New York! Tokyo! Hong Kong! which I love. And Paul's aristocratic accent, and Podgy and Jasper, and...
Listening to these records, it's great because you hear them doing all these funny voices and yet somehow, their essential speeching still comes through. And usually a bit of their Scouse accents, too.

Oh, so John made up the word Crimble and the phrase Garry Crimble. I had totally missed that little factoid. I thought they were just common terms in the UK that he liked to use. I feel a little bit smarter now.
