Hi,

i am a radio producer for the BBC in Scotland. I am currently trying to track down anyone who attended The Beatles gig in The Carlton Theatre in Kirkcaldy in 1963. I wondered if any forum members had attended or knew anyone who did?

Hi James, I wasn’t born then, sadly, but The Beatles in Scotland, by Ken McNab, and The Beatles: Across The Universe , by Andy Neill both cover this gig. I have a ticket from the night before, Glasgow Oct 5th, which my uncle bequeathed me. He came back from the concert with his shirt in tatters because the girls beside him grabbed and ripped it in their hysteria!

Also check out the letters page of the Dundee Evening Telegraph on Tuesday October 8th, as there is a letter regarding the noise levels at the gig you are documenting.
