How was everyone’s Christmas? Mine was gear! 
I got the single, Help !, and Rubber Soul ! 
And some candy and socks and other stuff that isn’t nearly as exciting. 
I spun Help ! yesterday, but I still haven’t given Rubber Soul a listen yet. I’m going to wait till all my folk have gone out so I can worship in private.

Married?! Is that why he was holding a press conference without the other Beatles and with that Pattie person? (I only saw the end bit of it.)
I didn’t have any kinds of designs on him or anything, but, y’know, it would’ve been nice, when he was still young* and free… 
I hope he’ll be happy. Or desperately unhappy and get a quick divorce…

Offline I still haven’t been able to save up enough money to buy Rubber Soul ! What’s it like? I’ve managed to hear Drive My Car from hanging round the record shop and it sounds great!

IT’S AMAZING!!!!!!!! Drive My Car is especially great, I’ve heard it before (even though I’m stuck with the crappy U.S version without that song on it 
). Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) is my favorite. No, but The Word , but then Michelle , but then In My Life , but then Run For Your Life , but then….
I CAN’T CHOOSE!!!! THE ALBUM IS MY FAVORITE SO FAR OF WHAT THEY MADE!!!!!

Offline Oh, ’tis brilliant! I think it’s their best one yet. It has a lot more groovy vibes than the previous ones… for instance, there’s this weird sound on Norwegian Wood that sounds all exotic, like the Indian music in the Help ! film. It just sounds more inventive than anything I’ve ever heard before– Beatles or otherwise.
natureaker– you’re doing a good job, and welcome to the club! But remember, you wouldn’t know that the US versions are crappy, and you wouldn’t know of Drive My Car either, as it hasn’t been released in the US. Unless you have an English correspondent.

Offline After several listens to this gear album, I have fallen in love with the song Girl. I love that “fssst” sound John makes after he sings “Ahhh girl”.
Is anyone else creeped out totally with that song Run For Your Life ?!?! I don’t think I will listen to that one very often !!!! I’m glad it is at the end of a side so I can just pick up the needle and end it.
I just heard the other day about Paul’s accident that happened last month where he fell off his moped, chipped a front tooth, and cut his lip. I wonder how bad the scar will be. That face is so perfect. I don’t want it messed up. 
However, I’m so glad he wasn’t hurt worse.
Does anyone know if The Beatles will be touring in America this year? I wonder if they will be anywhere near New York… the big

Offline I’ve never seen that Introducing The Beatles record. I thought their first album was Please Please Me .
I expect it’s another case of changing the packaging when they get across the pond… I wonder why they do that? Why can’t they just release the same things?

I don’t know much about what’s going on in the USA concerning the Beatles’ LPs but a friend told me that they have 10 times the number of albums we have in the UK! I assume they were exaggerating but why can’t they keep them the same everywhere? It doesn’t make any sense

Offline Well personally I say, the more Beatles albums there are to buy, the better! 😀 Especially since I live right on the U.S. border and can buy the American records almost as easily as the ones that were released here – like this one, my VERY FIRST Beatles album:
The best $1.99 I’ve ever spent!!! (Not that it’s necessarily my favourite – my favourite is usually whatever’s newest – but the price for new records went up to $2.49 a couple of years ago, right around the time of the “Twist And Shout ” album. What a gyp!)
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
