Do any of you know when the film will be released? I just can’t wait.

I’m so excited!

(I love this thread)

I think summer like the last one, or maybe a little after… I hope sooner!

Ahhh Girl said

Do you think they will ever show it on television?

Probably not soon, but wouldn’t that be spectacular?!

I’ve been spinning Beatles For Sale since it came out, but even more lately. I think that might be the movie title just like what they did with A Hard Day’s Night !

How does everyone like this album? I like it and all, but the last one was much better. I like when John and Paul write…

Sure thing! All the network has to do is find a big enough sponsor, like say Chesterfield Cigarettes. I can see it showing up on TV by maybe 1970 (wow that year sounds strange!) But who cares about TV when we can see it on a big screen: Beatles in COLOUR! EEEEE! heart heart heart

What is “Beatles For Sale “? I only bought “Beatles ’65” last month – is there a new album already?? Good thing I have lots of babysitting money.

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t explain. It’s not for sale in the States yet… A British friend sent it over to me. Maybe they’re waiting to release it here with the movie.

Okay, so I just went and bought their new record, “I Feel Fine “, and it’s GEAR!!!!!! I’ve never heard anything like it… at least, not since “A Hard Day’s Night “. My mum looked at me funny when I got back from the record shop– she thinks I’m obsessed. But at least she’s stopped saying that the Beatles are just a passing fad.

I reeeeally wish I could buy the new LP, but I don’t feel brave enough to beg for my allowance… again. My best friend has it, though– I’m so envious. I’ve been finding excuses to hang out with her every day, just to hear it!

(Warning: spoiler may contain… spoilers.)

THIS THREAD IS FAB! Just my cup of tea… because I like to imagine I was around in those days.

When I first got the record, I liked the A side better. But now I’ve sort of worn it out a bit more, and I’m beginning to appreciate that other song; “She’s A Woman “. Who knew Paul– the cute one– could sing like that?

There’s one line I don’t get. “Turns me on when I get lonely”– like a lightbulb?

I think you’ll have to wait a few years to find out, you “Silly Girl” heart They’ll teach you what you don’t know by then in high school! (Tee hee :) just kidding because I know you’re young, like my little sister.)

I have to confess that I thought “I Feel Fine ” was kinda “yuck” at first!! Like it had that weird sound at the start, like something out of an outer-space movie or “Twilight Zone” or something. Weird-o! Plus, the way Ringo played the drums reminded me of my Aunt Sally’s bossa nova albums. :D But I got used to it, and then I grew to really love it and all the other neat little sounds they’re putting on their albums. Like the barking dogs at the end of “She’s A Woman paul-mccartney

And how does George play a 12 string electric guitar with only 10 (gorgeous…gorgeous? GEORGEOUS!!) fingers, anyways?ahdn_ringo_09

It’s already been released in the UK– ten days ago. Either way, with a title like that, I can’t wait to hear it!

Any more news on their new movie? I need a shot of these guys into my system.

Have any of you heard rumors about The Beatles having tried something called LSD? Did they do it on purpose or did someone slip it into their drinks or something? The word on the street is that that stuff is rather powerful. It makes your mind flip out and your start to think about things like giant flowers, taxis made of newspapers, and people with eyes that twirl like a kaleidoscope. Weird stuff.

Man alive, I heard about that stuff on a CBS news special on TV – sounds crazy! (Kinda neat though, to be able to see sounds and hear colours!! Wow!)

But still I can’t imagine the Beatles involved in something like that .a-hard-days-night-ringo-6I hate to imagine them taking dope and sticking themselves with needles. Like (my Dad’s hero) Frank Sinatra in “Man With the Golden Arm”. That stuff is frightening.

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

^ Yes, hopefully it is just rumors.

Three barbershops in my neighborhood closed this year. Many, many of the boys in my area are all wearing their hair longer now. Do you see that same trend in where you live?

I don’t know where you live Ahhh Girl, but here in Toronto things happen at a slower pace! (We finally, FINALLY got our own Canadian flag this year without the Union Jack.) One or two boys at my school wore a Beatles hairdo and the stupid principal sent them home until they got it cut. 🙁  Too bad, one of them was cute!

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Have any of you seen the new film? It premièred about a week ago, but I couldn’t go because I spent all my allowance already… but I FINALLY got Beatles For Sale ! And what little I have left, I’m saving for the new album/soundtrack. 🙁

I’m really digging Beatles For Sale , especially the first song on side 2: Eight Days A Week . I wonder why they went back to doing covers though, when A Hard Day’s Night was all Beatle-penned tunes?

The chief reason was lack of time in which to write and rehearse new material in time for a pre-Christmas album. Take a peak at 1964 in the History section of this site – their schedule was mind boggling. It was easier to fall back on familiar covers.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

It’s 1965. Joe hasn’t been born yet! The Internet hasn’t been dreamt of yet! And I wouldn’t know what the Beatles schedule looks like, or why they reverted to the covers. I’m just an innocent little fan. a-hard-days-night-george-9
