Found this interesting article about the connections between Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Sgt. Pepper .

http://howlandechoes.com/2016/.....udio-time/

I know that John also attended the 14-Hour Technicolor Dream, at which Pink Floyd performed.

I'm currently revisiting Pink Floyd. Just got the four post-Wall albums (got the standard edition of Endless River).

I have the 1994-1997 remasters, plus the two Syd Barrett albums and his "Opel" compilation that came out in the 80's. Also have an EP called Tonite Let's All Make Love in London....Plus, and another one called The First 3 Singles.

It's maybe worth noting that both Pepper and Piper (hey!) begin with faded-in extramusical sound fx and conclude with tape-looped vocal cacophony

Someone said 'What were you gonna do when it's all finished,' and I said 'I don't know but it'd be good fun being a DJ.' And since then I've become a DJ, only by word of mouth, you know. SO any minute now you'll read, 'Ringo leaves to become a DJ' but it's not true. - Ringo Starr

I had forgotten how good Pink Floyd is. I remember that the early Syd Barrett stuff had to grow on me. I think it’s brilliant now. I do prefer his solo work though.

Generally I like the pre-Dark Side albums the best. I listened to Dark Side through Wall most in high school, but I hadn’t heard the early stuff then.

The only album I actually bought when it came out was Momentary Lapse, and I liked some of the songs but not all. Haven’t relistened yet. I lost my vinyl copy years ago, along with all my Floyd vinyl, in a flood.

I’ve always had mixed feelings about Final Cut.

Division Bell was better than I thought it would be. I really like it.

Endless River not so much.
