OK, Plastic Ono Band then. There are definite traces of Isolation in there.

The only thing the Beatles and the Plastic Ono Band have in common is they both had John Lennon in them. Other than that, no.
By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

I’ve become somewhat obsessed by AM by Arctic Monkeys recently. Most of the album is fairly rifftastic rock, but this is like a cross between Lady Stardust and The Beatles:
Though I know the Beatles have always been one of their inspirations, I don’t really hear it in this song.
Love that song btw. Great band too, they kick ass live. Not too keen on Alex’ new image though. The hip swinging thing doesn’t seem to suit him and that quiff is a joke.
Been reading back in this thread, didn’t realize I used to hate Oasis that much. Lol. Something ‘s definitely changed.

And Ringo and George (and Billy Preston, Eric Clapton, Phil Spector and Klaus Voormann). And their first single was credited to Lennon-McCartney (not that Paul contributed anything, but it’s still some common ground between the two acts).
Never mind. Since this thread is going off-topic, here’s Arctic Monkeys doing Come Together :

I watched, well fast forwarded thru the Opening Ceremony so as to skip the drivel (greatest ever etc etc repeat till its true) and i dont remember the Arctic Monkeys covering Come Together . Its good but the drummer is doing too much – sometimes less is more.

Yeah I don’t like drummers being excessive on simple songs. Richard Starkey is anything but excessive! P.S. @meanmistermustard is not a mean old man like John says. He’s actually a very nice person and a very cool person!

I think Ron Nasty will agree with me on this:
I’m the Urban Spaceman – Bonzo Dog Band – definitely qualifies as Beatle-esque, because Paul McCartney was one of the co-producers.
Here is the 1968 promo for the song:

Any other Tame Impala fans on here? They’re my favourite band, tied with The Beatles and Pink Floyd; I first discovered them by reading that Kevin Parker’s voice sounds like John Lennon ‘s (which is true), and it carried on from there. Apparently there’s a new album coming out soon, but don’t quote me on that.
My favourite songs by them are probably Mind Mischief, Sun’s Coming Up , their cover of Stranger in Moscow, and many more. I don’t think there’s any songs by them I dislike, actually.

I think that’s already the third or fourth time someone’s posting that Knickerbockers song.
And oh, the Real People! I’ve been wanting to check them out. Not bad, but there’s something about it I don’t like. Can’t really place my finger on what.
