As with the "It's All Too Much " video I posted a few weeks ago, the visual accompaniment is an afterthought - mostly, I dig how I was able to incorporate out-of-context 1966-67 Beatles lyrics and make them largely rhyme

One day, a tape-op got a tape on backwards, he went to play it, and it was all "Neeeradno-undowarrroom" and it was "Wow! Sounds Indian!"

Thanks!

I can't imagine I'll be doing a whole lot more of these  (at least in the immediate future), even if I could think of enough visual ideas to accompany them all. Which I doubt I can - we're talking about an entire (imaginary) double album's worth of tracks!

But here's a couple I did a few years ago. Video isn't terribly interesting at all (I only used a crap webcam for one, and no camera at all for the other), but I was really happy with both mixes. (The tracks are "originals", based mostly on "Flying " and "Sgt. Pepper (reprise)")

If you need an idea for visual accompaniment, I think I can help. Just use stock footage from The Beatles music videos, I know I'd much rather watch The Beatles play their instruments as visual accompaniment while listening to their music than the stuff you use. Tell me the song and I can give you a general idea of what footage you can sync up to it, here are a couple of ideas:

Come Together :

Riff:

footage from Let It Be film, try to find clips that focus on Ringo's drumming

Verse 1:

John Lennon 's 1972 live performance of the song

Verse 2:

Paul McCartney playing bass from the Hey Bulldog music video

when the backing vocals come in, go to the part of the Hey Bulldog video where John and Paul are recording vocals together

Chorus:

Revolution promo

Verse 3:

George Harrison playing guitar from both the Let It Be film as well as the Imagine film

Bridge:

footage of Paul playing piano from Let It Be from the Let It Be film with still photographs from the session in the background

Solo:

Let It Be film footage of George playing guitar

after the 1st lick, use the Revolution promo briefly before returning to above footage

at the end of the solo, just use some footage of them walking around

Verse 4:

footage from Let It Be that shows Ringo playing drums

Outro Solo:

Rooftop concert

Nowhere Man :

Verse:

live footage of them playing Nowhere Man , try to use a different venue for each verse

5 Note Riff and Solo:

footage of George playing his Fender Strat, whether it be from I Am The Walrus , All You Need Is Love , or How Do You Sleep

Chorus and Final Verse:

All You Need Is Love

Or you could just use the dreamscapes from The Beatles Rock Band and make custom ones for the ones you don't like and for songs that don't have one.

These are a lot more simple to make so here's an entire album of ideas synced up to other dreamscapes, the dreamscapes to sync up to the song are in the parentheses just so you know:

Revolver.jpgImage Enlarger

Revolver :

Taxman (Budokan)

Eleanor Rigby (She's Leaving Home )

I'm Only Sleeping (Nowhere Man , chorus from Girl for the bridge)

Love You To (Within You Without You , Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) for the intro, riff from In My Life for when the Bb chord kicks in during chorus)

Here, There, And Everywhere (Getting Better , Her Majesty for the intro)

Yellow Submarine (Yellow Submarine )

She Said, She Said (Budokan)

Good Day Sunshine (Lovely Rita )

And Your Bird Can Sing (Budokan)

For No One (Golden Slumbers )

Doctor Robert (Budokan)

I Want To Tell You (Budokan)

Got To Get You Into My Life (Budokan)

Tomorrow Never Knows (Within You Without You /Tomorrow Never Knows , Good Morning, Good Morning for the solo)

*Paperback Writer (Budokan)

*Rain (Budokan)

If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

Well, even if I had the technology / knowhow to incorporate pre-existing film footage or dreamscapes into them (other than simply pointing a camera at the computer screen), I still wouldn't want to just use other people's imagery.

The fascinating video for the "real" "Bulldog" is fine as it is, and the same goes for the other official Beatles videos. I don't see the point of just duplicating what was done already by others.

...also, the Budokan stuff et al wouldn't be any use for my purposes. The Alternate Hystery Tour project only consisted of all the non-Pepper material recorded between Nov 66 and Feb 68: all of MMT, the four YS tracks, Lady Madonna /Inner Light, Across The Universe , You Know My Name and Christmas Time Is Here Again , plus a few "original creations" like those last two.

Someone said 'What were you gonna do when it's all finished,' and I said 'I don't know but it'd be good fun being a DJ.' And since then I've become a DJ, only by word of mouth, you know. SO any minute now you'll read, 'Ringo leaves to become a DJ' but it's not true. - Ringo Starr
