Has anyone ever heard a song written about this day?

What about the time we met?

Well I suppose that you could say that we were playing hard to get.

Didn’t understand a thing,

But we could always sing.

Here Today , Paul McCartney

Right.  It’s my fault for not being entirely specific.  While that verse pertains, the remainder of the song doesn’t.

I was looking for an entire song.  And not one from the Beatles themselves.

Why would anyone but a Beatle write a song about the day John and Paul met?

It is a world-shaking event! Someone should write a song about it. Maybe a forumpudlian could write it and sell it to some big star.

I might, but I wouldn’t sell it… not even to a big Starr ahdn_ringo_09 I’d have me own little band do it, and then we’d get our lucky break, thanks to that one fateful day in 1957. a-hard-days-night-george-10

Well, if you put it that way…

Well he just turned fifteen

You know what I mean

And the way he looked was way beyond compare.

Now how could he play with another

When he saw John standing there?

Hmmm….perhaps a bit too much of a McLennon vibe going on there.. a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

Does anyone enjoy the theatrical dramatizations of that day? Here’s one from In His Life:

You and I have memories
Longer than the road that stretches out ahead

Not particularly, no. But then, I don’t find most of the Beatle biopics very enjoyable…

The Nowhere Boy depiction is better…at least the guy who plays Paul is ok. Otherwise all Pauls are pretty ugh.

Come to think of it, I think Skandar Keynes (Edmund Pevensie from Narnia) would’ve made a good Paul.

Sorry for going off topic…paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif

I think animation is the way to go for a biopic. Maybe the song one of the users writes could be used during that scene.

That was my line of thought.  Something as profound as that day; you would think someone would have immortalized it in song.  Especially considering how many artists’ lives and direction were so thoroughly shaped by that single event.  Hell, even the world-at-large was affected.
