The idea that a fan can capture a video of one of the 1D guys buying an ice cream with her iPhone, and within minutes that video can be uploaded and available to the entire world – there’s no way the Beatles could ever have competed with that kind of penetration. So they’re not necessarily wrong, if you look at it that way.

This is a great point. Can you imagine how many daily videos we’d have of Cavendish alone if there’d been cell phones back then?

They would be better than One Direction, and One Direction knows it.

from the article:

Harry Styles has brushed off comparisons between One Direction and The Beatles saying they would be fools to think they’re on the same level as the Liverpool legends.

Speaking to Event magazine, Styles agreed that their fan following is similar to Beatlemania but said that on a music level, they don’t compare.

“We all sat and watched the film of them [The Beatles] arriving in America. And to be honest, that really was like us. Stepping off the plane, the girls, the madness. It was exactly the same as when we got there – just 50 years earlier.

“But none of us think we’re in the same league as them music-wise. We’d be total fools if we did. Fame-wise it’s probably even bigger, but we don’t stand anywhere near them in terms of music.” –end

I was going to give them a tiny tad of respect until I read the first part of the last sentence.

Sorry 1D but music-wise and fame-wise you aren’t even close.

front.jpgImage Enlarger

(Ok it was estimated at only 250,000 Australian fans who turned up to see The Beatles but i cant find a photo of that and whats 50,000 between friends.)

Back then we had John saying that the Beatles were bigger than Jesus. Now, we have this 1D guy saying that 1D is bigger than the Beatles. So, to follow that logic pattern, this guy said that 1D is bigger than Jesus too. Burn their records!!!! (Well, some people out there were looking for an excuse to burn 1D records anyway. They can use this one a-hard-days-night-george-10.)

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8Having the memory of buying a One Direction album would trouble many for years. The shame would send them into the deepest furthest caves known to man.

Do you necessarily need a reason to burn 1D records?

Oh and don’t worry Harry. They were more famous too.

It’s amazing how a band that existed in a time with no internet, smartphones and godknowswhatelse still is the biggest selling act til this day.

talking about 1direction … i wonder if the boys (beatles and 1d) would have liked each other… partying together and so on. and the fans would hate each other. ^^ kind of like it was with the rolling stones (but although i’m not the biggest rolling stones fan i would definitely range them over 1d, naturally)

This made me laugh out loud, jenny. :) Then, it made me think that a follow-up single might be “We Can Twerk It Out.”

Was John a Twerking Class Hero?

Which Beatles were considered twerking class growing up?

EDIT: Yes, I know that song is post-Beatles, but I’m going to leave it here anyway.

She Came In Through The Bathroom Window  is not a post-Beatles song. It’s an Abbey Road  song.

You are right. Duh. My mind was thinking “Another Day ” for some reason. I lose. Thanks for keeping it real, mja. And, I like your additions.

All these songs, of course, were written and performed by that famous band, The Twerkles.

Uh-hum…. perhaps this has gone far enough? :)
