Hello! I'm writing a paper on Beatles fans, would you be willing to complete a survey on your fandom?

I’m taking a pop culture class and for our final paper we have to write on the fans of a topic of our choice. The survey limit is only 10 questions, but there’s a followup survey if you’re interested in going a bit more in depth. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Survey 1: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/9MGD92V

Survey 2: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/9XC9WVQ

Thanks again :)

I know lots of members of these forums are younger fans, but there are older fans as well; I’d consider anybody past their 20’s an older fan, but that doesn’t mean they’re old. Someone claimed to be the guy who held sheets of paper up for John as lyrics during the rooftop concert. I don’t remember what came of that.

Good survey htb723.

The question “the best thing about a live performance” was tough, since many of the choices apply.

Good idea to break up the survey into two parts; no one likes a long survey.

All the best!

Done!

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

That raises an interesting point.  I think any generation that came of age after the Beatles broke up effectively constitutes a “young” Beatles fan — because in pop music, fandom by definition is always current.  There would be different waves of “young” Beatles fans — I belong to the first wave, so to speak:  I was like 14 in 1970, when the Beatles broke up, and I was like 16 when I finally got around to listening to Beatles albums — in 1972.  I know to young people today that would sound odd to say that 1972 is already “post-Beatles”, but in a way, just by sheer years, it was.  But even if I’m mistaken about that, we can certainly agree that a 14 year old in 1980 who discovers the Beatles would be going against the fashions of his own peers, right?  So 1980 would be the first wave, 1990s the second wave, etc.

Wow! Thanks for taking the time guys! I got a total of 22 completed for the first survey, and 16 for the second, more than enough for my paper. I really appreciate it! I’m glad you found the survey to be enjoyable!
