Things We Said Today ?

Me, I’m just a lucky guy/Love to hear you say that love is love..

Yes, it’s Things We Said Today .

The last word is “luck” rather than “love”. I used to hear “love is love” as the lyric too but, according to the lyrics websites, it’s:
Me, I’m just the lucky kind / Love to hear you say that love is luck

Over to you, @Tony Japanese.

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

I’m not sure I want to believe you, but your right – they do all say that. I’m going to have to listen to it again now.

Anyway, the next song:

Our narrator seems to be having an identity crisis, and he isn’t very happy about it.

Why would Paul use ‘luck’ to rhyme with the next line’s ‘enough’, when ‘love both rhymes and makes sense’?

I have no guesses currently. Stay tuned!

I think it may be I Am The Walrus , which includes these lyrics:

I am he as you are he as you are me
I am the egg man
I Am The Walrus

So he doesn’t seem to know whether he is the egg man or the walrus (or maybe both at the same time)? He doesn’t seem very happy anyway:

I’m crying
I’m crying, I’m crying, I’m crying

There’s a discussion about this point in three of the posts here:
https://www.beatlesbible.com/s…..aid-today/

Having listened to the song once again, I’m not sure whether Paul is singing “love” or “luck”. Are there some definitive lyrics available?

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

Here’s what Paul has on his website
https://www.paulmccartney.com/…..said-today

Me I’m just a lucky guy,
Love to hear you say that love is love.
And though we may be blind, love is here to stay.

That’s great, @Ahhh Girl. Also I have just listened again to Paul’s unplugged concert version of Things We Said Today , and it’s pretty clear that he is singing “love” not “luck”.

I think “love is love” is really a much better lyric, so I’m pleased you have confirmed this by Paul’s website. Thanks very much to you and @The Hole Got Fixed for querying the lyric in the first place.

@Richard I Am The Walrus was exactly right. I probably made that one a bit too easy.

Thanks, @Tony Japanese. It didn’t come easy at first, but “identity crisis” caused me to think that it would probably be one of John’s songs; then I Am The Walrus sprang to mind.

Next song:

A man is in a darkened room. There is enough light that he can observe a particular object, but he is unable or unwilling to say specifically what this object is.

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

The narrator is making observations by the agency of a sand-based producer of syn-propanethial-S-oxide.
