Just like the old one, only this time it’s 100% Beatle! Same format: A Beatlechoice is offered (Dhani or Zak, Eleanor Rigby or Let It Be , etc) , and whoever answers first, and explains their choice, gets to offer the next choice. Oh, and answers of more than two words are encouraged! blue-meanie

Heather Mills or Allen Klein?

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Yuck! Glad this thread is back but what and awful choice. If i’m losing my money and sanity either way I’ll take Klein.

VHS or Casette?

VHS. You can get video from that, not just audio.

1958 or 1970?

I would choose She Loves You , that song caused them to get their popularity in the UK which in turn caused that to happen in the US with I Want To Hold Your Hand , but She Loves You is the stepping stone for any of those events. Besides, my favorite performance of The Beatles is She Loves You at the ABC Cinema in 1963.

Pre-1966 songs vs Post-1966 songs?

Don't worry, son, we'll get you the best lawyer trading stamps can buy.

Definitely post 1966. I am a huge fan of their weirder, more creative music.

John songs or Paul songs?

Isn't he a bit like you and me?

If I am in a happy, light mood = Paul songs
Contemplative, broody mood = John songs

I’m in a happy mood at the moment, so I will go with Paul songs.

The story of John beating up Bob Wooler or John doing his crippled act?

Eurgh. a-hard-days-night-paul-3 I’m going to have to go with John doing his crippled act because, as distasteful as that was, it didn’t actually involve him physically harming anyone in any way.

Also so you can sing at him ‘One thing you can’t hide… is when you’re crippled inside!’ a-hard-days-night-paul-5

Beatles singles: A sides or B sides?

A sides, because I can get both of the double A side songs.

Paperback Writer and Rain on Revolver or Penny Lane and SFF on Sgt Pepper ?

Paperback Writer and Rain on Revolver . Where would Magical Mystery Tour be without SSF and PL?

The Beatles breaking up when they did, or breaking up ten years later (after being miserable for ten years).

Breaking up when they did. Without the breakup, we wouldn’t have All Things Must Pass , RAM, Band On The Run , Imagine , etc. etc. etc.

Staying in the band: Stu Sutcliffe or Pete Best?

Pete Best. Being alive is vital to being able to play music.

Paul McCartney : vocalist or bassist?

Paul McCartney : vocalist – while Paul’s bass playing is exceptionally skilful, I expect his vocal talents are recognised by a wider audience.

1966 Candlestick Park concert or 1969 Apple Rooftop performance?

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

1969 Apple Rooftop Performance. It’s the first Beatles live performance I’ve watched and I’ve been fascinated by them ever since.

Moptop or long hair?

Long hair – while the moptop look was important for the Beatles’ breakthrough, I think the long hair was a greater expression of freedom.

Höfner 500/1 bass or Rickenbacker 4001S bass?

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

1969 rooftop, because it was professionally filmed/recorded; and also because Billy Preston.

Dig It vs. Maggie Mae ?

Edit: never mind !

Richard asked

Höfner 500/1 bass or Rickenbacker 4001S bass?

Rickenbacker. Better sound, though less iconic.

Von Bontee asked and so will I

Dig It vs. Maggie Mae ?

With the Beatles. It’s longer and it has some really excellent cover songs like Devil In Her Heart and Money (That’s What I Want).

Julian or Sean?
