The Beatles Masquerade Party Game
O Come ye Beatles Biblers All
Come ye Down to
The Costume Ball
Tell us who
You will be,
And tell us who
You hope to see!
And tell us, too
What all will do!
Members are asked to submit entries about the costumes they’d wear
and to mention who else they want to meet there, and what activities
all these attendees might be up to.
To get this thread going…I…S. B. Fields… will be dressed up as
The Man in the Crowd (with the multicolored mirrors on his hob-nail boots)
and when I get to the party, I will be looking to hook up with Long Tall Sally , and
we’re gonna Twist And Shout ’til we work it on out.
OK Everybody — your turn!

I would dress as the Walrus. I doubt Eleanor would be there as she’s lonely, not a partying type, but I’d hope to meet the lovely Pattie Boyd there, unless they must be characters from songs, then Lovely Rita .
If Pattie was there I’d Be Happy Just To Dance With Her…. And then maybe recreate Norwegian Wood based on some of the meaning speculations.
If its Rita we’d have to have desert after winning her at dinner, so we’d get some cool cherry cream and nice apple tarts.

^The walrus was Paul. Are you going dressed as Paul, with a Paul mask? Don’t make it look too real, or I. Might. Um…Cause…ahhum…A. Scene.

Don’t want that to happen! Paul would be tipped off to your intentions.
Just the Walrus suit, no Paul costume…

Pattie Boyd is most certainly invited! I wasn’t intending to limit it to song lyrics…it is true that from Revolver , onward, the songs have a rich cast of characters, but, I’ll say “the more the merrier”…so, let’s make it that it can be any person or creature from songs, poems, films, and even those involved in the “real life” world of the Beatles: so… Deaf Ted, Danoota, Sir Guy Grand, Musketeer Gripweed, Old Fred, Victor Spinetti, Wilfred Brambell, Alan Civil, Magic Alex, Ravi Shankar, Phil Spector and George’s hair-do named “Arthur” would all be fair game.

Dressed as ‘Doctor Robert ‘, I was chauffeured to the Revolver Ball in a ‘Yellow Submarine ‘. Noticing a shy woman standing alone, I walked up to ‘Eleanor Rigby ‘ and said, “would it be alright if I asked you to dance?”. To which she replied, “I would ‘Love You To ‘”. As we tripped the light fantastic, people ‘Here, There And Everywhere ‘ took notice ‘For No One ‘ knew how well either of us could dance. During a break for refreshments, she whispered “‘I Want To Tell You ‘ a bit of gossip about something our hostess told me regarding a conversation she had with her husband”. Upon hearing the gossip, I replied “are you serious?”. To which she responded, “that’s what ‘She Said She Said ‘ to him”. Sharing a laugh over this seemed to ease her shyness to the point where she sang with joy. One of the guests, the ‘Taxman ‘, stopped by and remarked to me, “your companion is a wonderful dancer ‘And Your Bird Can Sing ‘”. This made her so happy that she leaned into me and said I ‘Got To Get You Into My Life ‘. Flattered as I was, I explained to her that I was not yet ready to start a relationship at this point in my life, but ‘Tomorrow Never Knows ‘. She appreciated my honesty and we danced some more and then talked on the terrace until dawn. As we parted company, she kissed me lightly on the cheek and said ‘Good Day Sunshine ‘. Suddenly, the alarm clock sounded and I realized it was all a dream, ‘I’m Only Sleeping ‘.
