Well, Charles Darwin had a house on Upper Gower Street in his early thirties that was destroyed by bombing in 1941. They may have been near that, though I don’t think it was on the corner.

I’ve actually looked this one up, and that’s not the answer, @Ron Nasty.

I don’t think the rules of this game have ever been formally defined, but I vote that we are allowed to search for answers to the ‘Beatles Trivia – Hard’ questions.

As Ahhh Girl mentioned, that’s not the correct answer I’m afraid.

For the new page, and adding an extra hint:
What building had stood at the location (of the Beatles jumping on rubble) shown in Fiona’s photo?
Hints:
* The building was at the corner of Euston Road and North Gower Street in London, and it had been demolished for widening of Euston Road. The demolition area can be seen behind the Beatles in this picture:
* It was a pub with a three-word name. The first word is ‘The’; the second is a 6-letter word in the lyrics of All Together Now ; and the third is a 4-letter word in the lyrics of All Together Now , Strawberry Fields Forever and Good Day Sunshine .
There’s an old black-and-white photo of the pub available online – as well as a picture of the scene today.
And in the end

Thank you. If nobody else wishes to post a question, I would be happy to post another.
I imagine @sigh butterfly will probably enjoy this game when he returns to the forum.

Fiona Adams photographed the #Beatles in various locations for a Boyfriend magazine feature in April 1963.
Her jumping shot became the cover for the ‘Twist And Shout ’ EP and was taken in the rubble of the demolished Orange Tree pub on the corner of Euston Road and Gower Street. pic.twitter.com/WCqb6AA2UH

That’s right, Ahhh Girl.
Here’s a large picture showing the pub with ‘THE ORANGE TREE’ name visible on the front, together with a view of the scene today: the widened road and pavement is now in the location where the Beatles were jumping over the demolition rubble:
Would you like to post one, @sigh butterfly, or anyone else? Otherwise I’m happy to go ahead with posting a new question.

Wow, @Nicko, I hope you’re right. If you are, what a way to begin your Fab Forum presence. A truly memorable first post.
Were you outside that window trying to sneak a peak?

Wow, this one does seem tough Nicko. We had a forum game a while back where the point was to identify places both you and the Beatles had been. I remember many of the concert venues did not exist anymore, so I’m kind of assuming this may be the case here. The only solid clue I can see is the NEXT shop entrance to the right. Since there are 500 NEXTs in the UK and the Beatles played at 1000 venues or so, I’m not sure how easy it will be to compare the 2 lists and come up with an answer. There is probably one forum member that may have this location in their memory bank, so lets see if he checks in.

That’s the junction of Whitechapel and Church Street in Liverpool, currently a Next store I believe, formerly the Forever 21 store, which had a shoe shop called Bunney’s Store stood there until demolished in 2012 for the Forever 21 store. The buildings demolished for the redevelopment also included 12-14 Whitechapel, the site of N.E.M.S., where young Beatles would hunt obscure records and whose manager would later become their manager.
I was lucky enough to go there in the ’80s when it was a Currys or something (white goods and electronics store), and you could still see record sleeves stapled to the ceiling above a fake ceiling.

Perfect Ron Nasty. It is indeed the site of N.E.M.S. where a young Raymond Jones ordered “My Bonnie ” from Brian Epstein. One of my “Beatle fix” sites I went to. There is now a statue of Brian outside it portraying him walking to the Cavern.
Well done Ron. Great pick up

Congratulations, Ron!
The blog called ‘A walk in the footsteps of The Beatles’ features the N.E.M.S. (North End Music Stores) flagship shop and offices in Whitechapel – as well as several other locations.
The Liverpool Echo article ‘The lost world of Liverpool’s record shops’ has some pictures of the shop, including one taken on 5 June 1964.
Did you also visit the Cavern, @Nicko, and the location of the original Cavern entrance with the statue of Cilla Black nearby?
