This was because a BBC Radio interviewer, while with the Four, said “Please Please Me , that number, is wonderful.” Due to the radio static, most British teens thought he said it reached “number one” This is why it is always good to follow this quote of American author Edgar Allen Poe:
“Believe only half of what you see and nothing that you hear, especially on the Internet.”

Jelly beans. If you bought a copy of the album at the time of the LP and played it at the speed of a 45″ single a secret compartment appeared on the LP and you got a limited edition numbered jelly bean available in four different flavours. These are incredibly rare nowadays but remain highly collectable.

Offline Martha was in studio to overdub her designated “Pepper” bits: Some barks in response to the “Good Morning…” cat-meow effects; and a harmonized howl with Ringo and boys during that final “…from my FRIEENNNNDS!” Paul’s delight in her studio professionalism led him to conceive of the high-frequency dogwhistle tone that closes the album.

Offline ‘Five of Us’ was inspired by ’10 In The Bed’ but, well, it’s better left there but that’s why the bed was brought in to the studio a few months later. Paul did a hasty rewrite when he saw where things were going.
